But her aunt asks her to read journal entries she wrote many years ago about life during WWII, how Bel's mom and dad met, and how her aunt's undying love for one man stayed with her thr.I really enjoyed The Good Sister by Maggie Christensen.
But Isobel has a story to tell, and she has things she wants to put in place before she goes. Bel returns to Scotland from Australia because her aunt is very ill. Bel left Scotland in a typical rebellious way and created a new life for herself.
Fern and Rose are fraternal twins but very different from each other. This HAS to be on your “to be read” list!!! This is the second novel I have read by this author, having loved The Mother-In-Law.Sally Hepworth does it again you guys!!! This is one book that gets everything right, starting from the beautiful cover, the plot, the characters, the twists - everything.I have read everything Sally Hepworth has written and have loved them all. I love a novel that makes the reader ponder over the subject in their mind and touches the heart. This new one is another style again and the comparisons with The Rosie Project and Eleanor Oliphant are spot on, and like EO, has an underlying mystery. I also like the fact that the characters were real and believable. The Good Sister turned out to be another good read and features a fascinating female character. The reader is then introduced to Fern who is a young woman working in a library trying to navigate a confusing world with her Asperger’s traits and impulses, who hints early on she has done a terrible thing.The Good Sister by Sally Hepworth is another excellent read from an author who, for me, can do no wrong when crafting a twisted domestic thriller that will have you greedily turning the pages. Each time I think her books can’t get any better, and they do! Take this with your sister to settle the debate once and for all.
