It is an incredibly historically informational novel peopled with (a few too many) warmly flawed and incredibly real characters.This book should come with a warning. On to an easy and mindless read after this epic story.Well I would like to put three and a half stars for this book.Louis de Bernieres won the Commonwealth Writers Prize, Best Book, 1995 for Captain Corellis' Mandolin. I will think about them for a long time to come.I so wish that the editor had been a bit more stringent with this book so that more people would read it! "Birds Without Wings" is one of the best novels I've read in several years.
